Gab is an artist whose deep affinity with nature informs her work.

Over the past few years Gab has worked as a creature designer, taxidermist, natural history illustrator, more recently delving into the world of mechanical and anatomical sculpture. She has formally studied production and concept art, animal behaviour, welded sculpture, illustration and has trained in ornithological creature design, puppetry and special effects for film. She has toured internationally on productions including ‘Arc’, ’Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium’, Vivid Festival’s ‘The Liminal Hour’ and various productions at Belvoir St Theatre and Terrapin Puppet Theatre. She has illustrated several scientific papers, preserved endangered specimens for the Australian Wildlife Conservancy and has produced a series of illustrations of critically endangered species for Zoos Victoria. She was recently awarded the 2023 Cat Palace Emerging Sculptor prize for her work in the recent minitures show at Defiance Gallery in Sydney.

Having grown up on the East Australian Coast, Gab has also spent many seasons rescuing and rehabilitating injured wildlife. The movement, behaviour and anatomy of birds of prey as well as patterns in nature are key influences on her developing work.
